
Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 4 is set to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC on September 12, 2025, having been moved up from an initial September 23 release to an earlier date. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled to release on October 3, 2025
Borderlands 4 is set on the newly introduced planet Kairos. Players face off against the Timekeeper and his synthetic army, The Order, in a chaotic looter-shooter adventure. The game features four new Vault Hunters, each with unique abilities, and introduces enhanced traversal like double-jumping, gliding, and grappling. The game will be cross-platform co‑op will be available across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox; Switch 2 support is likely. Fans can also expect an expanded endgame, streamlined with fewer skill points but enhanced build customization via skill tree augments and capstones.
